A quick and fun sideways knit for a feminine, versatile, year-round cardigan. Short sleeves for the warmer seasons, then add the detachable sleeves and your little girl stays toasty when its cold. Or keep it simple with classic long sleeves.

Sideways Babe is the second pattern in the Sideways Set ebook.

Sizes are 3, 6, 9, 12, 18, 24 and 36 months.
Finished chest sizes are 46, 48, 51, 53, 56, 59 and 61 cm /18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24 inches.

The pattern explains how to adapt the length of the cardigan, so if your four- or five-year old has a narrow chest you can easily knit one of the larger sizes with added length.

OR check out Sideways Big Babe, the big sister version of Sideways Babe, sized from 2 to 16 years.

Tip: For a matching hat, try the free Rainbow Ridge Beanie. Originally designed as a scrap buster, it also works beautifully in a solid colour. The garter ridges on the hat reflect the texture on the cardigan.
