The Sideways Jacket is an oversized jacket with wide sleeves and body and an overlapping ribbing in the front. There are many ways to adjust the fit by adding or subtracting sts in the sleeves, the area between the sleeves and the neckline, or at the center of the back and in the front. The body is knit back and forth in garter stitch, while the collar is knitted back and forth in a 1x1 rib (knit 1, purl 1). You start by knitting the left sleeve before you increase for the front and back piece. When you get to the neckline you put the back-sts on hold to knit the left front piece, you then knit the right front piece, before you join all sts to finish off the right side of the body and the right sleeve. The sides of the jacket are crocheted together, you also do double crochet sts on the sleeve edges and the bottom edge of the jacked. You finish by knitting the ribbed collar and sewing it onto the body.
