Siebold
Siebold unfolds its leaves in a large crescent.
Worked top down in several sections with variations of the delicate leaf stitch pattern, Siebold is interesting to crochet and lovely to wear.
The deliciously soft bamboo yarn can be substituted by another laceweight yarn.
Wingspan approx 176 cm/69”. Height at center approx 47 cm/18.5” after blocking.
In this big crescent-shaped shawl, your hook will form delicate leaves from the upper edge to the bottom border. To underline the curved shape, the “wings” of the shawl see more leaves sprouting than the center. In my version, these leaves are blue… making me think of the Hosta sieboldiana.
You will start by crocheting a small crescent from one side tip to the other, then continuing to work from the curved edge of this first crescent, down to the border. The increases are part of the stitch pattern.
The pattern is both written and charted. It uses US terminology
