Create this beautiful flower bag and enjoy an introduction to Peruvian Andean embroidery, exploring the art and rich heritage of hand stitching from the Andes, immerse yourself in the ancient textiles embroidery of the Peruvian Highland of Ayacucho
Ayacucho located in southern Peru, is a city at an altitude of 2731 meters above sea level, surrounded by the Andean mountains, with various folk art villages scattered throughout the beautiful green valley.
The city is knows as the “Capital of Folk Art” because of the variety of folk art that can be found here, and is particularly famous for the beauty of Ayacucho embroidery which is made with bright colored woolen threads.
This tutorial carefully explains with picture tutorials, the unique stitches and motifs often used in Ayacucho embroidery, so will be easy and you will learn each embroidery stitch, this pattern also include how to linen and attach the zipper.

Wide: 10” (25.5cm)
Height: 7” (18cm)
Yarn
30 yards cotton yarn #5 or any sport weight yarn (Main color) (MC)
To make this sample I used Liliacraftparty Merino Lace (2 threads together) in the following colors:
Fuschia, Mustard, Purple, Green, Pink, Blue, Yellow, Lilac, Honey dark
5 yards of Merino Lace /100% Superwash Merino /Weight: 100g, Lace weight /Meterage: 800m (875yds)
You can use DMC Tapestry thread wool in the same colors or make your own color combination
Crochet Hook
2.5mm
I used Liliacraftparty Ergonomic wooden crochet hook size 2.5mm available HERE
Gauge
15 chains and 6 rows in single crochet = 1” (2.5cm) x 2.25” (5.5cm)
Notions
Stabilize it Cut Away paper for embroidery or Stick and Peel paper (you can use tissue paper too)
Scissors
Embroidery needle for yarn
Sewing needle
Sewing pins
2 pieces of cotton fabric for linen
1 zipper 10” (25.5cm)
Small beads (optional)
