Siesta Key Beach Baby Blanket
The Pattern is written in 5 seamless sections. The first, 3rd and 5th sections are stockinette, reminiscent of the sand at Siesta Key Beach. The 2nd and 4th sections have a simple textured design that look like the gentle aqua waves of the Florida west coast gulf.
The blanket comes in 5 sizes. Approximate yarn and sizes are as follows, assuming 4.5 stitches to the inch with a size 8 needle.
Worsted or aran weight yarn in 2 colors. Sizes and yarn amounts are approximate:
• Stroller: 200 yards each color (400 yards total) for 22 x 28
• Baby: 350 yards each color (700 yards total) for 28 x 34
• Small: 500 yards each color (1000 yards total) for 34 x 40
• Medium: 650 yards each color (1300 yards total) for 36 x 46
• Large: 800 yards each color (1600 yards total) for 42 x 52
Sizes include approximate amounts of yarn needed. Depending on gauge, you may need more or less than suggested. I am always happy to have some leftovers so I can make a matching hat!
Gauge is not crucial when making a baby blanket. I love it that blankets do not necessarily have to fit to size - they just need to be warm and cuddly!
