Merry Christmas 2009 and a happy new year to all supportive and encouraging fellow Ravelers! This is the first pattern I’ve tried to publish and I hope there are no mistakes left in it.

A hat knitted top-down in stranded colour work.
There are quite a lot of stitches (168) which means you need thin yarn and needles. You will probably have to do some swatching to get the size you desire.

The pattern is free, but perhaps you could consider donating whatever you think it is worth to Ravelry or maybe some charity organization that is important to you.

Suggested yarns:
Bluish-green and white hat: Malabrigo Lace (work with two strands held together). 50+50 grams.
Dark grey and white hat: BC Garn Shetlandsuld: 50+50 grams.

I first called it Liquorice hat (seeing it from above) and then changed it to Sigtuna hat, since the pattern reminded me of runic stones - which there are lots of in Swedish town Sigtuna.

It struck me that name might be protected, so I changed the name to Sigge after a Westie dog who lives there.
