Signum is a simple lacy shawlette worked from side to side, designed to use up most of your skein. Weigh it at the start and increase until you’re halfway through, then decrease. This was designed with fingering weight, but can be knit with any yarn at any gauge.

Finished Size: 17x64” once blocked

Yarn: Awenydd Yarn and Fiber Elemental Sock, 100% Superwash Merino, 438 yards/100g; sample knit in Signum Magnum.
Needles: 24” circular needle size 5 US (3.75 mm), or size to obtain gauge

Gauge: 18 stitches/ 28 rows per 4 inches in wet-blocked stockinette. Gauge is not critical for this item, but it will affect drape and amount of yarn used.

Notes:
This shawl is knit from one end to the other. Weigh your yarn at the beginning, knit the increase portion of the shawl until you have used half (or just a little slightly less) of the yarn, then begin decrease portion. For this purpose, a scale which measures grams is best. Sample used 90 grams. You may knit this shawl with any yarn, at any gauge. The secret remains, just weigh it!
