Silence of the Lambs Cashmere
The inspiration for this hat was inspired by the use of tuck stitches in Nancy Marchant’s latest book Tuck Stitches and by the ‘She Rises’ hat by Cassondra Rizzardi of Rizzaknits. I have knit a couple of the hats from that pattern and as most designers do I got the “what if I did this?” I played around and the design was created by alternating where I knit one below.
The name of this hat may sound a little odd, but I will explain. I knit this hat with Asylum Fibers Far Far Away colorway on the Solitaire base and Cascade yarns sock yarn in black. I messaged Stephanie of Asylum Fibers to show her what I had made and asked her if she had any ideas for a name. She said she didn’t know, but that the pattern looked a little like sheep even though it clearly wasn’t intentional. I immediately came up with Silence of the Lambs. Somehow it seemed to fit considering the shape the stitch created and the use of yarn by Asylum Fibers. This version is exclusive to Great Yarns and uses Cardiff Cashmere.
