Introduction
This design was born on a lovely winter’s day. One of those rare days, where the world seems to be hibernating, slowing down, extending time even. Wrapped in a bobble of snow that takes away any sound or movement, leaving a rare quality of silence. I named it Silent Bliss as a reminder of that blissful stillness and quieting of the mind - an ability that lies inherently within us all but is so easily drowned in a fast moving, multi-tasking society. A reminder that faster isn’t always better….

Pattern is divided into clear sections and is easy to read and follow.

This pattern is is well suited for traveling, netflix-crochet or when you need to “pull the plug” :-). I like to have one or two projects like this among the WIPS for when I just want to sit back and let the mind wander wihtout thinking too much. Once you get started you don’t have to glance at the pattern all of the time as the pattern is extremely easy to memorize.

Construction
The shawl is worked flat in rows, making the triangular shape from the beginning. After the first couple of rows, the shawl basically repeats the same pattern each row. You can make as many rows as you like.

Materials
1.Hook: 4,5 mm (US 7) crochet hook or any hook to obtain gauge.
2 Sport / 5 ply (12 wpi) weight (wool) yarn (long gradient)

Note: you can experiment, using a lighter weight yarn for this shawl. This makes an elegant shawl. Just bear in mind that you will need to make more rows to obtain the same size, if you choose to do this.

Yardage
You will need approx. 696 yards /640 meters of Sport / 5 ply (12 wpi) yarn for the size given.
I used “Kauni effektgarn”.

Size
Full measurements: My shawl measures approx. 160 cm X 78 cm (63 x 30.7”) after 23 rows.

Gauge
Using 4,5 mm hook: 3 rows = approx 8 cm (3.1”) high and 20 cm ( 7.9”) wide
