Worked top-down from a small cast-on, the triangular body of Silent Noon is formed of a sequence of four lace-charts, that you can work in full or start part-way through. The fourth lace leads into a wide crescent border, worked from two further lace-charts. All the main charts may be repeated you choose, so the shawl is highly adaptable in size.

Suitable for any yarn, from cobweb to fingering weight, that knits with good stitch-definition. The full sequence of laces is best worked with at least 600m/660yds, but a simpler shawl could be made with less, down to about 375m/410yds.

The grey-to-gold gradient shawl used just over 75g = 600m/660yds of lace-weight yarn
The lavender-to-grey gradient shawl used a little under 105g = 625m/685yds of heavy lace-weight yarn
The pale brown ombré gradient shawl used approx. 48g = 645m/705yds of handspun cobweb-weight yarn

Please note that the pattern is given as charts only, with little written explanation. It should present no difficulties to knitters with experience of working lace and the ability to read their stitches, but is not really suitable for beginners.
