Silent Snowfall Socks
I grew up in a cold place in the woods where snow would fall silently through the trees. Now, I live in a warm place and really enjoy wearing lacey socks. This lace pattern reminds me of snowflakes and took me back to a place and time where I would stand outside, face turned upwards, snowflakes silently falling all around me. I hope knitting these socks takes you to a peaceful and quiet place.
The socks are knit cuff-down magic loop, but the lace can easily be inserted in a toe-up sock as well. Sizing is for standard 56(64,72) stitch counts, with an adjustment (decrease) in stitch count to account for the lace gauge.
One skein of sock yarn is plenty, and should be enough for at least a 6” or 7” leg on your sock. The pink sock pictured is knit with Voolenvine Footsie Base in the Tea Leaves colorway, and the blue sock pictured is knit with Camel City Dyeworks MCN in the Stonewash colorway.
An Eye of Partridge heel is used in the pattern, but your favorite heel can easily be substituted to fit your foot.
