From Knitting Lingerie Style:

This luxurious camisole would have been right at home in the Roaring Twenties, with its elegant pearl straps peeking out from under the shoulders of a sheer beaded frock.  Silk lingerie was almost commonplace then, and the richer and more embellished, the better.  The silhouette of this piece is simple--with a scoop neck, close shaping, and empire waist detail--but it doesn’t lack for richness; the yarn is lustrous silk and the straps are made from strands of genuine freshwater pearls.
