Silk Garden Lite Mix'n'Match Baby Booties
These are not ordinary booties for ordinary babies! A beautiful gift.
This is the pattern to knit a set of four booties in 45% Silk, 45% Kid Mohair and 10% Lambswool with co-ordinating ties and embellishments.
These utilise a gorgeous yarn from Japanese designer Noro who spins and dyes beautiful yarn. It’s spun and dyed by hand as much as possible so has a wonderful unique and rustic texture. The silk gives a beautiful luxurious texture and a lustre that shows off the colours. The lambswool and kid mohair offer soft and lightweight warmth.
Why four? Because a pair can be a pain - you can never find the second one when you need it in a hurry! With four to choose from there should always be a pair handy – a bonus for tired, busy parents. You can also mix and match the booties according to your mood!
Each one has a co-ordinating cord to help keep them on busy feet. They are hand embroidered with embellishments for that extra bit of bling. The soft knitted soles are good to allow non-walking babies to wriggle their toes and stretch their feet!
Two sizes covering approximately 0-12 months.
Given the nature of the yarn no two sets could be identical.
Knitted in the round so there are no bulky seams to put pressure on delicate feet.
You will need:
2 x 50g skeins of Noro Silk Garden LITE yarn
OR 1x 50g skein of Silk Garden Lite and 1x 50g skein 8ply yarn to knit contrasting soles version
1 set of 3.75mm double pointed needles
1 stitch marker
1 wool needle for sewing up
tape measure
scissors
This pattern is professionally laid out and has colour photos. You can fold it to a convenient ‘bookmark’ size. This makes it handy to carry around with your project and means it takes up less space next to you on the sofa!
If you are in New Zealand this yarn is available from my website http://shop.mynx.co.nz.
