Silky Stocking Hat
I really love knitting cabled hats. It’s all of the plush texture of a sweater with a smaller time (and yarn!) commitment. Add in that this hat is knit holding DK weight yarn held double and you know that it’ll be done in a flash!
This hat is knit with the brim in a contrast color to really show off the cables. As I was knitting the first one, I thought up a second cable panel that would be lovely. I couldn’t choose so I included instructions for two different cable panels. Feel free to get adventurous and mix and match the 4 kinds of cable twist. The smallest size should fit an elementary school aged child. The other sizes are good for adults with varying amounts of hair. With two skeins of Silky Wool you should be able to make two beanie length hats with the colors reversed.
Cable charts also include written instructions.
