Writing a knitting pattern is hard work. The really difficult part of it is finding a name for it. I have no idea how others do, for me it is like no name/no pattern. I had this hat knitted up for half a year, the pattern written up, but hey, what do I call this silly hat? Until the day in late spring when I went for a walk and saw those dandelions that had lost their color. Blowballs! So here we go with the Silly Blowball Hat.

It is not a silly pattern. It only has a silly name. It is worked from the bottom to the top in a DK weight yarn, using a fun and interesting textured stitch pattern. Only one size, adult medium – the stitch pattern is very stretchy and will make for a hat that will fit many heads.

The pattern is written and charted.

Difficulty level: intermediate (increases and double increases, decreases and double decreases, working in the round on DPNs or circular needles)

Yarn: Steinbach Eroica (55% nylon, 45% wool; 114m/50g; 125yds/1.76oz) or any similar DK weight yarn, 2 balls. Sample used 126m (138yds).

Needles: 4mm/US 6 set of 5 DPNs or circulars

Notions: yarn needle, 1 stitch marker (when using circular needles)

Gauge: 24 stitches/28 rows in stockinette stitch = 10cm/4in.

Size: medium adult: circumference 42cm (16 3/4in) unstretched, stretches to 56cm (22in). 22cm (8 3/4in) from bottom to top.

Eine Strickanleitung zu schreiben ist manchmal Schwerarbeit. Am schwierigsten ist es, einen Namen dafür zu finden… Ich weiß nicht, wie andere das machen, wenn ich keinen Namen habe, dann habe ich auch keine Anleitung. Diese Mütze war ein halbes Jahr fertig, die Anleitung war fertig, aber wie nenne ich sie jetzt, diese dumme Mütze? Bis ich dann im späten Frühjahr einmal spazieren war und auf der Wiese Pusteblumen sah. Pusteblume! Hier ist sie, die dumme Pusteblumenmütze.

Die Anleitung ist nicht dumm. Nur der Name ist dumm. Die Mütze wird von unten nach oben in einem tollen Muster gestrickt.

Nur eine Größe, mittlere Erwachsenengröße – das Muster ist sehr dehnbar und wird auf viele Köpfe passen.
Die Anleitung ist ausgeschrieben und in einer Strickschrift dargestellt.

Schwierigkeit: mittel (Zunahmen und Doppelzunahmen, Abnahmen und Doppelabnahmen, in Runden auf einem Nadelspiel oder einer Rundstricknadel arbeiten)

Garn: Steinbach Eroica (55% Nylon, 45% Wolle; 114m/50g) oder ähnliche Wollen, 2 Knäuel. Verbrauch für das Beispiel: 126m.

Nadeln: 4mm Nadelspiel oder Rundstricknadel

Sonstiges Zubehör: Stopfnadel, 1 Maschenmarkierer (falls eine Rundstricknadel verwendet wird)

Maschenprobe: 24 Maschen/28 Reihen glatt rechts = 10cm.

Größe: Erwachsene mittel: Umfang 42cm ungedehnt, dehnt sich auf 56cm. 22cm vom unteren Rand bis zur Spitze.
