There is a silver lining to all life’s problems, you just have to see it. Like this shawl; the body is like a big heavy cloud that covers you in it’s grip, and then there’s the silver lining that is the cable brim and you realize that the hug is really a good warming and loving hug that shields you from the cold and whistling wind.
The shawl is knitted from edge to edge, starting from the straight edge, progressing through the body and ending with the cable panel on the outer rim.

Special Abbreviations
Inc 1 to 5 = M1, kfb, with LH needle pick up the vertical strand that is in front the two sts just made and knit it, m1.

Dec 5 to 1 = Sl next 3 sts purlwise, pass the 2nd st on RH needle over the 1st and sl it back to LH needle, pass 2nd st over the 1st st, sl 1st st from LH needle to RH needle; rep from one more time.

2/1 LC = Slip next 2 stitches to cable needle and place at front of work, k1, then k2 from cable needle.
