Silver Sands Cardigan
A great summer staple this is super easy to work with just a little bit of folding to give an interesting design. The back and fronts are worked in one piece and the sleeves are picked up and worked down (either flat or in the round). The only seam is the side and sleeve and there are no borders to pick up. The entire garment is worked in seed (moss) stitch, but it would also work really well in garter stitch. In fact you could use any stitch that is reversible and lies flat when worked. I chose a three quarter length sleeve to go with the cotton weight of the yarn, however it would be very simple to work a full length sleeve if you decide you prefer the look or wish to work in a warmer yarn.
This garment looks best with about 4 inches of positive ease, which means the first size would suit someone who measures 34 inches. The model is wearing the version with an actual measurement of 40 inches.
I have included some brief instructions for working with heavier yarn.
