Pattern description from Alterknits: “This elegant necklace is composed of small knitted squares of sterling silver wire and beads slipped onto a leather cord. All of the materials for this projects - except for the knitting needles - are available at bead shops.”

Finished Measurements: Small square: 7/8” x 3/4”; Large square: 7/8” x 1”

Materials: 1 (30-yard) spool of 28-gauge sterling silver wire (enough for approximately 3 necklaces). (Note: 28-gauge Artistic wire may also be used.)

Needles: Two double-pointed needles (dpn) size US 6 (4 mm). Change needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Stitch holders, 18” or desired length leather cord; leather crimp bead and clasp; 6 spacer beads (Bali Sterling Silver 1/4” square - shown); 1 lobster hook; needle-nose pliers; multipurpose cement.
