Silversage is part of my Spice Girls 2 collection, a collection of functional, modern, and practical layering pieces and cardigans.

The cardigan is completely seamless and is worked from the top down. I have used an amazing technique developed by Susie Myers, “contiguous set-in sleeves”, that allows shoulder shaping and construction of set-in sleeves without the use of a single short row.

Silversage is designed to showcase hand painted variegated yarns, though worked in solid colors it is equally as stunning.

The main features of the cardigan are shawl collar, sleeve cuffs, and two different closure types one can choose.

Sizes: NB (3m, 6m, 9m, 12m, 18m), (24m, 3T, 4T, 5T, 6-7), (8-9, 9-10, 10-12, 12-14)

Chest sizes: 15 (16, 17, 18, 19, 20), (21, 22, 23, 24, 25), (26, 27, 29, 20) inches or 38 (40.5, 43.5, 46, 48.5, 50.5), (53, 56, 58.5, 61, 63.5), (66, 68.5, 73.5, 76) cm

Yardage: 150 (175, 210, 250, 275, 325), (350, 400, 450, 475, 525), (600, 700, 825, 900) yards or 137 (160, 192, 229, 252, 297), (320, 366, 412, 434, 480), (549, 640, 754, 823) meters.

Yardage info is given with long sleeves in mind, for ¾ sleeves you will need 40-70 yards less.

If you are using 2 colors, the trim color is roughly 2/5 of the total amount given.

Notions:

US # 6/4.0 mm circular needles (30 cm or dpns; 60 or 80 cm) or size to obtain gauge;
US #4/ 3.5 mm circular needles (100 cm);
4 stitch markers to mark shoulder/sleeve areas;
1 optional button (1 inch wide);
Cable needle (optional);
Tapestry needle and sewing needle (optional);
Sewing thread (optional);
Waste yarn/stitch holders.
