Silverwing Socks
Some of the most memorable stories from my favorite childhood books, begin their adventures in an attic.
A forgotten door to a dusty world of the past, perfectly preserved in a creaking old steamer trunk.
A map, a black and white photo with hand written notes, faded oil paintings under sheets of dust and canvas.
Then perhaps, wrapped in a monogrammed lace handkerchief, a journal filled with mysterious entries, or, gasp, a key!
The Silverwing Socks are the first pattern in the secret attic collection!
This collection will take you on an adventure into those spaces, dust motes floating in broken beams of light, secret notes, the silvery powder on a moth’s wings, faded perfume, and yellowed lace.
The pattern features simple colorwork and carefully placed texture stitches that create the moth motif circling the leg.
The heel is worked in the flap and gusset method, and construction is top-down.
They are knit up in fingering weight yarn on size US 2/2.75 mm needles.
They’re available in sizes unisex teen/adult small, medium, and large.
