Silvery Moon
This is designed to be a big, snuggly cowl that can be pulled up over the head or slipped around the shoulders. The height measures 40cm (15.5”) and the circumference is 102cm (40”). However, it would be easy to extend the height further with extra yarn.
The sample is made of two different Papatya Batik yarns (one with a silver thread through it), but any combination of solid colours or variegated colours in an equivalent weight yarn will work - let your imagination lead you! A larger hook than is generally recommended was used to give the cowl some drape and softness.
This item would be appropriate for an adventurous beginner (or more experienced crocheter) who knows the usual stitches (ch, sc, dc) and wants to learn how to make the ldc (long double crochet) stitch (also known as ‘spike’ stitch).
