Simon's Jumper
I’ve always wanted to knit my own Christmas jumper. Yet every year I’ve been too distracted by other knitting projects to do so.
But when my little boy’s first Christmas was in sight I was determined to create one for him.
This is a simple classic jumper design. Worked from the top-down, it utilises the raglan shaping to create a short button band. Enough to gently ease a baby’s head through and then secure after.
Without the duplicate stitch patterning, this is a jumper that knits up quickly. Perfect for a last-minute baby gift. With the duplicate stitch patterning, the design possibilities are endless and easily allow for personalisation for that extra special baby gift.
A step-by-step photo tutorial has been created here for the row where you switch from knitting flat to knitting in the round.
There are some additional charts to help you personalise your jumper. There are the full alphabet and 0-9 here, as well as a blank chart in the same proportion as the gauge of the pattern here.
There is also a free printable gift wraps for an extra special touch to your gift here.
