This is a simple baby blanket worked all in one in a basketweave texture with garter stitch borders. As long as you can knit and purl, you can make this.

I’ve made it in Wondersoft Merry Go Round, but it would work well in any yarn, and would look good in plain colours too. You could also make it in other weights of yarn, using the corresponding size of needles - for example, chunky with 6mm. Of course, the sizes will vary. I haven’t put a gauge, because it doesn’t matter too much.

I used (most of) three balls of Merry Go Round for the size I made. It could be a stash-buster - try stripes!
