This is a straightforward pattern for a simple crocheted basket. The finished project will be quite soft (as in it might not hold its shape as firmly as a store bought basket) but this is dependant on the materials you use.

I recommend using 4 yarns simultaneously to work up this basket, but you could also use a soft, malleable rope (check out your local craft shop) which would certainly created a stronger, more sturdy basket (the white basket in my pictures).

The basket is ideal to hold small items for a gift perhaps (such as hampers) or your wool, or even your current WIPs :)
