This is a very simple, quick pattern that will make a bird about 4” (10cm) long. Provided you know your basic stitches this could be made by a beginner.

Please note that I use English crochet terms.

There is no need to worry about gauge for this and you can make a flock of birds using up all your leftovers of DK yarn. They look great when you hang several as a mobile, and I have been using them to decorate my Easter tree.

You will also need a small amount of stuffing and a darning needle.
