A simple and straightforward cable knit tank top pattern, suitable for a newbie knitter who is ready to take on their first cable knit design.

This tank top is a neat fitting design that skims the body, it has a scoop neckline that knits up fairly quickly on 5.5mm needles. 4 sizes are included, each size has ease to fit across two sizes, from a UK size 8-10 to a UK 18-20. To keep it as easy as possible to read, the instructions for the front of the top have been written separately as each size is subtly different in order to maintain symmetry and balance across the cables.

Summer and Autumn yarns have been tested for this pattern and they give very different textured finishes. It is a lovely design to wear, I have lived in my cotton tank all summer. The subtle nod to vintage styling makes this a versatile addition to any wardrobe.

Please note that the yarn used is a DK weight yarn that has been knitted on a larger than suggested needle to achieve a soft and open texture for Summer. If you prefer a more closed textured fabric use an aran or worsted weight yarn. I have made this tank using Felted Tweed Aran and it comes up heavier and is lovely for the Autumn.
