This is a simple chevron pattern that I originally used in my Learn to Crochet classes. It was very popular and eventually I posted it on my blog. The basic stitch repeat means that you can very the size to suit your requirements and the yarn you have available. Use a slightly bigger hook as this does respond well to the extra drape.

It is particularly well suited to variegated yarns where “pooling” occurs, the wavy chevron makes this into an attractive feature.
