This blanket is both knit and crochet.
I use U.S. crochet terms.
My blanket was originally going to be all knit for a queen size bed. But that changed, so I did the math and adjusted it for a king size bed by adding crochet.
You can make it as big or small as you want, gauge does not matter.
I used size 4 acrylic variegated and solid yarn, from many different companies, even some balls of leftover yarn. I have no idea how many yards I used.
I found out the corners get weird if you don’t turn the blanket over after every round.
