There’s something I love about a giant, deeply textured cowl as the weather turns. It’s so easy and satisfying to knit -and once done, you throw it on with pretty much anything and it instantly makes the outfit. especially when knit in a gorgeous eye-catching color.

Simple Daiquiri features a bold, textured lace pattern, worked in a squishy Cormo fiber, naturally dyed with Saxon and Weld by Tammy White of Wing & A Prayer Farm.

I decided to name it Simple Daiquiri since the basic pattern design is straightforward and classic, but it can be played with in a variety of ways - much like the traditional Daiquiri recipe - which combines ONLY rum, lime and simple sugar - but has been modified a thousand times, depending on ingredients on hand and the taste of who’s having the cocktail!

With that in mind, notes are included in the pattern for modifying depth or width, playing with gauge, and playing around a little with the pattern itself. I like mine in one solid color, but I could also envision this in color blocks or stripes as well….

Sample shown in the larger size, and is knit in Tammy’s Saxon-Weld colorway. I used most of my 2 skeins.

Note on yarn weight: This Cormo is listed as a DK, but it’s round and squishy like a worsted-weight yarn. I suggest using a yarn that’s a light worsted or heavier. A delicate DK would work, but result in a much lighter-feeling fabric.
