This is a great pattern for beginners and it uses a simple garter stitch to create a lovely shawl. There is also the opportunity to learn a couple of new stitches and also have a great shawl to show off at the end. This pattern has been written in two versions a short one and a long one. The long one is a table where every row and stitch count has been provided so you are able to print the long version and cross off the rows as you go.

The Simple Fade Shawl pattern uses 10 x 20g mini skeins and the pattern describes when to change the colour, however you can alter the fade to suit your style.
