This is a pattern for a slightly slouchy adult sized hat with a rolled brim and a simple fair isle motif along the bottom of the hat. The motif matches Colleen Powley’s “Sporty Mitts”, which she designed for Blue Sky Fibers. The pattern for these mitts is also available on Ravelry as a free download. Make both to have a matching set!

The pattern for the mitts can be found here

This hat is perfect for the first-time stranded knitter. The motif is small and simple, and you will be carrying no more than two colors per row. The hat is knit up in sport weight, making for a lighter weight hat suitable for all but the coldest days. The pattern contains instructions for adult sizes small (18.2”), medium, (20.6”) and large (22.8”). This pattern has some specific instructions for left-handed knitters (where applicable), as well as some tips & tricks for first time stranded knitters.
