Simple Fair Isle Wrist & Ear Warmers
With these easy-to-make crochet wrist and ear warmers, you can stay snug all winter long. The fair isle cross stitch design and the mini berry stitch texture add that little bit of extra style. In no time at all you’ll be keeping your hands and ears toasty when you’re out and about on those crisp and frosty days.
Sizes
Wrist Warmers: To fit an average adult female hand circumference (measured below knuckles) 20-22cm.
Ear Warmer: To fit an average adult female head circumference (measured above eyebrows and over the ears) 56-58cm.
To adjust the sizes, I advise using a smaller or larger hook, rather than adding or subtracting stitches, as the cross stitch embroidery is designed for the stitch counts specified in the pattern.
Materials
Yarn A: 2 balls x Sirdar Haworth Tweed DK shade F007-0911 Cotton Grass Cream 50g/165m
Yarn B: 1 ball x Sirdar Haworth Tweed DK shade F007-0913 Millstone Grey 50g/165m
Yarn C: 1 ball x Sirdar Haworth Tweed DK shade F007-0906 West Riding Red 50g/165m
Yarn D: 1 ball x Sirdar Haworth Tweed DK shade F007-0903 Hockney Blue 50g/165m
Yarns C and D are used for the cross stitching, only a few metres of each are needed.
I used a 4.50mm hook to achieve tension/gauge of 17 stitches x 18 rows for 10cm x 10cm.
The pattern includes tutorial photos, cross stitch charts and links to YouTube tutorial videos.
