This is a versatile square that can be used to make a variety of items such as blankets, bags, pillow covers and more. It can be used traditionally as joined equal sized squares, OR as one large continuous square (just keep adding more rounds until it reaches the size you need).
When worked continuoiusly, this pattern does not create the “vortex” twist that sometimes happens with other crochet patterns like continuous granny squares, so no need to flip your work over between rounds.
I created 2 large squares and joined them together to make a pillow cover, see my video for that HERE or check out my YouTube channel Pattern and Craft and watch the video “Simple Lattice Crochet Square Pillow Cover Tutorial”.
This pattern also includes an optional variation to the pattern for rounded corners which is useful for making items like pillow covers, pin cushions, and bags etc. The rounded corners do not lay flat so they are only recommended for items that have volume, for flat items such as blankets I recommend sticking
with the regular square corners of the basic pattern.
PDF pattern includes pattern charts and step by step written instructions in US crochet terminology.
