I wanted a nice soft and squishy hide option for my little leopard gecko, and I wanted it to be more similar to her favorite coconut hide.

It’s super simple, so beginners should have no problems making one for their gecko! Feel free to message me for help.

Simple Leopard Gecko Hide:

  1. MR
  2. SC 6 into MR
  3. INC around
  4. (INC, SC 1) around
  5. (INC, SC2) around
  6. (INC, SC 3) around
  7. (INC, SC 4) around
  8. Ch 1, turn (no longer working in the round, going back the other way) sc around, leaving 5 stitches unworked at the end of this round. (This will be the door) Ch 1, turn.
  9. (DEC, SC 3) Across. Ch 1, turn
  10. SC across. Ch 1, turn.
  11. (DEC, SC 2) across. Ch 1, turn.
  12. SC across. Do not ch1 and turn
  13. Ch 3, then cross the door gap and continue sc around, closing the top of the door and returning to working in the round. Your first sc after the ch 3 will be the start of step 14.
  14. Sc around, making sure to put 3 sc into the ch 3 across the top of the door.
  15. (DEC, SC1) around
  16. DEC around. Break yarn. Thread through remaining stitches and close hole, fasten off.

That’s it! This makes the smallest size hide for my juvenile gecko, but you can add rows to the bottom circle and adjust the rest of the rows accordingly for a larger gecko.
