This is a free pattern for a simple machine knit shawl/wrap that is suitable for any gauge flatbed knitting machine (by adjusting the type of yarn you decide to knit with to be appropriate for your machine). My example was knit on a Brother KH-260 bulky machine.

These finish up in about an hour and utilize a simple increase/decrease method to construct the triangle shape. They look just as lovely in a patterned yarn as they do in a simple solid color.

They are reversible, so they can appear “stockinette” or “garter” stitch depending on which side you display.

You can also add fringe or other design characteristics such as eyelets (example shown in the dark green photo). I did not include instructions for this in this pattern, however. This pattern is just for the basic shawl shaping. You can get creative with it!

This is a versatile shape which can be worn many ways (Draped around the shoulders, assymetrical, tied around the neck, tied around the waist, etc.).

It is a unisex pattern as well. My husband enjoys these when knit in a more masculine colored yarn. He calls them “tactical scarves”.
