This is a simple project for Easter. Most of the body is just SC and chains!

I wanted a pattern that created a drawstring pouch for Easter eggs that didn’t require glue or seaming. This pattern is worked in one piece from the bottom up in joined rounds without turning.

The egg is inserted after the last row. Using the thread tail, use a yarn needle to weave in and out of each stitch of the last row to draw the stitches tightly closed. If you want to create a hanging loop, just leave a longer tail. Take care if using blown out eggs! Add a decorative ribbon if you like.

This is a perfect little pattern if you’re wanting to try thread crochet! It could also be adapted for Christmas ornaments.

Make several and put them in a pretty basket.
