This cute little project pouch is perfect for knitters of all levels! It’s just the right size for toting around a knitting project. Or, use it as a clutch for everyday. It’s up to you!

It’s a simple and easy to follow pattern with detailed instructions and links to video tutorials.

Plus, given the small size of the pouch, it’s a fairly quick project to complete.

This pattern will teach you how to knit and purl, plus how to use knits and purls to create garter stitch (all knitting), and stockinette (alternating rows of knits and purls).

You’ll also learn how to attach a button to your finished project.

YARN
The suggested yarn is Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick, which is a super bulky yarn.

Any super bulky should work just fine, though!

If you choose the suggested yarn, you’ll need 1 skein.

NEEDLES & NOTIONS
US 13 / 9.0 mm needles. I used circulars, but straight needles will work, too.

You will need a tapestry needle, small scissors and 2 buttons as well. You’ll also need embroidery thread (to attach the buttons) and a yarn scrap (to secure the flap closed, around the buttons).

GAUGE
10 stitches and 16 rows in 4”, using stockinette as the basis for gauge. This is unstretched.

SIZING
No sizing!

NOTES
Construction: the pouch is knit flat, beginning with the flap which is knit in all garter. Then, you’ll switch to a stockinette + garter mix for each row for the body of the pouch. Once you’ve completed the body, you’ll cast off, and attach the buttons.

I LOVE seeing people knit my patterns and make them their own - if you could tag @charminglymodern and #CozyScarf on Instagram or Facebook that would be great!
