This simple pattern is good for any new knitter, requiring only one repeated row. The scarf can also be made with any type of yarn (fuzzy, eyelash, single ply, etc) and on any size needles for a dramatically different effect. Ribbed scarves should be loosely cast on, as the ribs in the scarf will allow quite a bit of stretch. The yardage required is dependent on the desired length of the scarf.
