The pattern for knitting a Simple Scarf on a circular sock machine is more of a recipe or basic guideline. This pattern was written for use with a Dean and Bean’s Circular Sock Machine, but can be adapted to other circular sock machines. A Crank Along video series is available on our YouTube channel.

We recommend using your 72-needle cylinder, but any size can be used depending on the desired width of your scarf. Finished length is personal preference.

Gauge is not important, but please note that a tighter gauge makes for a denser fabric.

The Simple Scarf is constructed out of a stockinette tube with a hung hem on either end.
