This pattern was designed to help people develop their skills; knitting in a luxury fiber, pick up stitches, knit in more than one direction and a three needle bind off.

The size can be adapted to fit a child or person with a larger neck by adjusting the dimension of the center panel described as Part Two in the pattern or by adding stitches to the larger panel described as Part One in the pattern.

This project is fun to do with more than one person. A more accomplished knitter can perform the tricky bits and a novice could work the stocking stitches.

One of my sample knitters used up random bits of her stash making the cowl in three colors rather than one.
