NOTE: Pattern includes instructions for both the plain and striped versions.

This is the perfect little project for learning to knit!

Sizing: Baby (Child, Youth, Adult M, Adult L) to fit approximately 17 (19.5, 21, 22.5, 24)” or 43.25 (49.5, 53.25, 57, 61) cm head circumference.

Materials:
Yarn for Plain Hat: Approximately 50 (50, 100, 100, 100) grams and bulky weight yarn that will knit to gauge.

Yarn for Striped Hat: Approximately 50 (50, 100, 100, 100) grams Total of Colour 1 (C1) and Colour 2 (C2) in bulky weight yarn that will knit to gauge.

Needles: 6mm 16” (40 cm) circular needle (or size needed to obtain gauge.

Stitch Marker, Darning Needle, Crochet Hook to attach tassels, Spare 6mm needle if you choose to do the 3-needle bind-off.

Gauge: 3.5 sts = 1”, 14 sts & 21 rows = 4” (10cm) in stockinette stitch.

Skills Utilized
Knitting and purling in the round, three-needle bind-off OR Kitchener stitch to close top of hat. Pattern includes instructions for both methods.
