Hang individually, string together to make a garland, or even add one to your gift tags this holiday season to give them a personal touch - these simple stars made in packing twine have a real handmade, rustic feel to them and hook up in no time at all.

This pattern calls for medium weight packing twine. I got two 40m balls in a single pack for £1 and using just over one ball, I crocheted twelve stars. Each star is approximately 3inches in diameter. Blocking is advised. The cotton is firm enough for the stars to hold their shape, but stiffening them is optional (especially if you plan to store them).
