Simple Stay-Put Socks
Simple ‘Stay-Put’ Socks
I have always had a problem getting hand-knitted socks to stay up. I frequently end up with them clumped around my toes, and so I decided to work out something to fix that. This pattern uses a combination of simple rib and arch support, which together help the socks to be much more inclined to stay put.
These socks are designed to be 2-colour.

Pattern Notes
These socks are worked top down (from the cuff) using a simple rib stitch. The socks are designed with negative ease because they stretch during wear. They will also ‘give’ with use, so it is better if they start a little tighter.
Pattern Sizes
There is a lot of stretch and leniency in the measurements for these socks. Choose the size that most closely matches the measurement around the ball of your foot.
