A simple sock pattern for cosy everyday socks, including how to knit stripes without a jog between colours. Make a toasty pair in my Jacob Winter Sock yarn, or choose your own wool.

It’s a great way to use up leftover yarn or mini skeins – it’s designed to work with any sport weight or 4ply wool.

You can use a heavy 4ply/sport weight yarn, or a classic 4ply sock yarn to knit these socks. There’s a simple chart in the pattern which helps you pick a size based on your yarn choice.

Using minis or leftover yarn

You can choose the thickness of the stripes and the number of colours you use. On my sample, I had three alternating colours for the stripes, and saved a fourth colour to knit the cuff, heel flap and toe.

I used approximately 15g of one ‘contrast colour’ to knit the cuff, heel flap and toe of one pair of socks.
