This shawl can be done with any yarn. The pattern showcases a single skein of self-striping or hand-dyed yarn, but I can also picture an amazing scrappy yarn shawl. It is a relaxing knit with an easy-to-memorize repeat and is constructed asymmetrically, allowing the knitter to knit blissfully until it’s time to bind off. The squishy garter body allows meditative zen.

NOTE: Any yarn can be used for this pattern, you want to use needles that will give the shawl a drapey feel.

I use:
Size 5, 6, or 7 for Fingering Weight
Size 8 or 9 for Sport Weight
Size 10 or 10.5 for DK Weight
Size 11 for Worsted or Aran Weight
Size 13 or 15 for Bulky Weight

The amount of yarn used will determine the size of the shawl. The pictured shawl is one skein of sport with size 9 needles.
