Simplicity Triangular shawl in Double Garter
Shawl can be knitted with single color using “two end-knitting technique” from both ends of the same ball of wool - strand A and strand B.
To help me cast on the right number of stitches.
I use stitch markers to mark the stitches in groups of 50. I recount each group before placing the marker and then I count the groups.
Materials:
3 50 g./137y of Rowan Soft Lux in purple
1 50 g./137y of Rowan Soft Lux in silver grey
The shawl is knitted from bottom up. Using rapid decrease, 6 stitches every two rows, the height of the shawl is ¼ of its width.
This reversible double garter triangular shawl is achieved by using both “two-end knitting technique” and “double point sliding technique” with alternating strand A and B or strand B and C, knit every row. Because of the double garter stitches, the scarf has a very fluffy feeling. And the color changes are very subtle.
Two end-knitting is so called because you knit from both ends of the same ball of wool. Let’s call the two ends strand A and strand B.
Double point sliding technique is so called because you slide sts to opposite end of dpn or circular needle.
