Suggested Experience Level: Advance knitter with basic knowledge of brioche knitting. This pattern does not contain any tutorial material. I suggest one can either work together with an instructor, learn brioche from YouTube videos, or use Nancy Marchant’s book: Knitting Fresh Brioche (2014): Creating Two-Color Twists & Turns

Pattern Info
A sleeveless brioche cardigan, Simplify is designed as a transitional layering top for warming or cooling seasons. The construction is transitional as well since it is suitable for beginner brioche knitters. However, this is not a brioche tutorial. Please refer to Nancy Marchant’s books on brioche, a YouTube video, or a friend to learn the very basics.

This garment starts with single color brioche rib; no purl stitches are worked when knitted flat. Also, making this sweater in flat is less stressful since fewer stitches (compared to knitting a whole round) need to be unraveled if/when a mistake is made. You may decide to knit the whole sweater with brioche rib, or add the twists and turn pattern. Again, knitted flat in single color, the twists and turns require no purling. However you decide to knit this, have in mind to “simplify”, breathe, and enjoy.
