I had some sweet lilac-coloured yarn, the perfect amount for a cozy wrap for my 4-year-old granddaughter. The squishy garter border and diagonal seed stitch stripes got me hooked and I started playing with the width and direction of the stripes until it became clear this just had to be a pattern. No cable needle needed, just knit and purl stitches, texture for days and still an interesting pattern because every single row is different. Knit it all in one colour, use variegated yarn, use leftovers - it’s the perfect pattern for any kind of yarn. I knit a version with 5 colours that reminds me of a 90s party and I’m here for it.

Construction
The Simply Good Wrap is a rectangular wrap knit flat, from one end to the other. When using two different colours in the same row as I did in the sample (see schematic), make sure that the yarn is twisted (next colour from above or below depending on which stitch comes next), so there are no holes in your work. Tin Can Knits have a great post about it here: https://blog.tincanknits.com/2013/01/29/intarsia/
*This pattern is charted only - easy to read & intuitive to follow. Written instructions would have complicated it, so I decided to stay with charts only. Give it a go!*
