The pumpkin is knitted in the round, in a rib pattern that forms the body. After working to the desired height, the cast-on edge is gathered to close the pumpkin. Once stuffed, the pumpkin form is shaped. The stem is knitted separately, then securely attached.

Sizes
The final size of your pumpkin is adjustable depending on your yarn choice and the length you knit. A small pumpkin will measure approximately 5 cm 2 inches tall and 11 cm 4 ⅜ inches wide.

Yarn
Original: 15 grams of Drops Cotton Light, 105 m 115 yards in 50 g.

Needles
Use needles that are 0.5 to 1 size smaller than recommended for your chosen yarn to ensure the fabric holds its shape when stuffed.
3.5 mm US4 needles (or the size recommended for your chosen yarn) for working flat.
Optional: 3.5 mm US4 double-pointed needles - for working i-cord.

Tapestry needle, fiberfill for stuffing, scissors.

Gauge
Gauge is not crucial for this pattern. Simply use a yarn and needle combination that results in a tight, even fabric.
