Simply Put
#4 in my cabled shawl series. Simply Put is a classic shawl that has an amazing cable along the spine as the focal point. Learn how to make horizontal cables, too, for sweet edgings that frame your cabled shawls perfectly.
Size is adjustable by doing more/fewer repeats of the cable patterns. There are notes in the pattern for making the shawl larger or smaller depending on preference (and yarn amounts available). Gauge is not essential for this project.
To make pattern as written, you will need @800 (scarf-size)-1300 yds (shawl size) of fingering weight yarn.
F/3.75 hook, scissors, blunt tip needle for weaving ends, stitch marker
Please be familiar with the ghost stitch technique of making crochet cables. You will not get the results pictured otherwise http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/beautiful-cables-...
This pattern uses US terminology. A written pattern, it includes detailed charts of the shoulder/edging cable patterns, a close-up of the spine cable pattern, and the first 35 rows of the shawl to show placement and establish the repeats. Detailed photos are included as well as a photo-tutorial of doing the join-as-you-go edging.
